Urban Outfitters Unveils A Campaign Featuring LA's Raddest "Skate Girls"

UO fuses effortless '90s skate style and friendship to create a lookbook.

Urban Outfitters has launched its new campaign entitled “Skate Girls,” which celebrates the friendship among a group of LA skateboarders, and the results look more like stills from a badass documentary than a clothing brand’s promo.

“We were honored to collaborate with this creative community of young women for the ‘Skate Girls’ campaign,” said Urban Outfitters’ Chief Global Executive Creative Director, Joanna Ewing. “Their passion and determination was so inspiring to our team and we hope their collective energy inspires others.”

Lensed by photographer RJ Shaughnessy, the campaign’s imagery sees the all-female crew dressed in looks inspired by ‘90s skate culture. The collection heralds the return of a laidback approach to fashion with easy silhouettes, and the looks feature skatewear staples like wide-legged jeans, T-shirts, cozy hoodies and more.

In addition to a lookbook, UO is also releasing a five-part video series exploring the life of the 13 LA skater girls. Take a peep at the trailer directed by Steve Berra of The Berrics.
