Ugg Releases New Collection In Celebration Of Pride
The ‘Pride’ Collections Launches In Collaboration with GLAAD and The Pacific Pride Foundation.
This June we’ll be celebrating Pride at a social distance, with events around the world being cancelled and postponed. In celebration, UGG has released a new collection in partnership with GLAAD and the Pacific Pride Foundation.
The new range is an all-gender slides collection, with the Disco Checker Slide and Fluff Yeah silhouettes available in rainbow colours inspired by the LGBTQ+ flag.
Activists Cora Delaney, Kai-Isaiah Jamel and 13 Reasons Why star Tommy Dorfman have taken part in the brand’s #UGGPRIDE campaign, celebrating the launch of these new slides.
UGG will be donating $125,000 USD to GLAAD, whose Senior Director John McCourt announced in a press release: ‘With both its ‘PROUD Prom’ and colourful, all-gender ‘Pride’ collection, UGG is stepping up and finding unique and creative ways for LGBTQ+ people, especially LGBTQ+ youth to showcase their pride this June’. He added: ‘By partnering with GLAAD, UGG is helping to support GLAAD’s work in training the next generation of storytellers, activists, and changemakers who will help to move hearts and minds.’
PROUD Prom is a virtual prom to be held on May 15th at 8pm EST, hosted by Dorfman and featuring a make up tutorial by Kali Kennedy, a Q&A session by ALOK, a special appearance by Shangela plus more.
