It’s been a long time coming. The athletic classic has come to replace our sweats, jeans, and trousers. Track pants are the cooler version of comfort, and now, they are more than just a warm-up piece.

Track pants have a new class to them. Both channeling style and comfort, the pants give an elevated edge to our classic outfits. They’ve shed their purely athletic roots and are now a classic staple for our closets.

I’m obsessed with the relaxed pants with stripes running down their sides and their newfound versatility: from the classic, post-gym pants and sneakers to day-time ready in ballet flats, track pants can do it all. Paired with flip flops, the pants can be worn to the beach. And, for a bolder option, a structured silhouette, a silk top, and heels for a night out (an option I’m not sure I’m even ready for).

The best part is that track pants can be worn with almost anything. I’m picturing a white baby tee with statement jewelry and flip-flops, or a sleek, matching set with pumps. They’re informal, sporty, but still surprisingly chic.

The silhouette options are also limitless. Whether it’s in the form of a straight-leg, flare, baggy, or, dare I say, jorts, there’s a pant shape for every occasion. And each cut offers its own, unique vibe–always with a hint of sporty, but overall, effortlessly polished.

Ultimately, track pants are back in 2026, and I think we should all jump on board.
