The Shades of Berkin: Hermès to launch its Cosmetics line ‘Rouge Hermès’
& Small Leather Accessories to Tote them around!
Branching into the world of cosmetics, the French luxury house Hermès confirmed the launch of its subdivision ‘Rouge Hermès’- a range of lipsticks inspired by the brand’s iconic Birkin Bag and signature silk scarves.
The 24-shade range will include colors from pink and red to orange and purple in either matte or satin finish, encased in polished black, white or permabrass metal. Acknowledging the need for sustainability, the brand has taken the initiative of creating refillable magnetic-clasping cases created from the metal hardware of their handbags.
CEO Axel Dumas shared that, “Hermès Beauty is part of who we are: a house where everything comes from creation, driven by artisans who seek to accompany the men and women of today with elegance, and with the integrity and authenticity that we represent.”
Apart from being absolutely stunning, the shades will also be slightly scented. The custom blend was created by the brand’s perfumer Christine Nagel.
The house has also launched a line of small calfskin leather accessories for its beauty products, which includes a lipstick case with a mirror and a small clasping hook that can actually work as a necklace- having a perfect little Hermès moment.
Hermès Beauty will be available in selected Hermès stores from the 4th of March and will retail for $67 USD.
