The Latest Nostalgic Mega Mix
A Vibe Through Eras in a New Remix Collaboration Album
With being unable to tour her album ‘Future Nostalgia’ due to COVID-19 restrictions, Dua Lipa teamed up with DJ The Blessed Madonna over lockdown, to create a ‘genre-blending’ club album. So much so, that their mega mixtape album is called ‘Club Future Nostalgia’.
28 visual creators came together to produce, arguably, the coolest visual album of the year. The visual aesthetics are similar to what you would see on lofi hip hop streams, yet there is definitely a bigger dance vibe. The mega mixtape has elements from the 70s through to the naughties. And the visuals do just that too.
According to The Blessed Madonna, Dua Lipa put everything she loved into this collab. What makes a great artist better? PASSION. What makes this album even better, is the features. Missy Elliot, Madonna and Gwen Stefani all feature in songs, giving it that dance floor naughties feel. I think we all need some 2000s vibes to keep us going through the day.
The album was created to flow from song to song, which it does well. The Blessed Madonna wanted to make sure each remix was right for the overall album sound. “It should feel like a welcome bonus that maybe you weren't expecting.” - The Blessed Madonna, Nylon interview. Yep, you’re right we weren’t expecting legendary Stevie Nicks let alone any of the other fantastic women featured on the album.
So if you’re feeling a little grey, go listen OR watch women supporting women in ‘Club Future Nostalgia’, streaming from all major platforms.
