Miu Miu
The name of Miu Miu’s Spring-Summer 2021 campaign is Mind Mapping, highlighting a community of unique and nonconformist individual women. Each woman’s individuality is represented through a pair of portraits. The collection features simple silhouettes with sophisticated details, giving aspects of femininity.
The collection is paired with a short film directed by Benn Northover. The short film is somewhere between documentary and fiction and through a loose interpretation of the Game of Contraries, the characters confront each other.
Kenzo
Felipe Oliveira Baptista enlisted photographer Glen Luchford to revisit Kenzo’s archival images and recreate them with his second collection for the house. The collection showcases bold prints and colours, and looks in this collection are both delicate and daring.
The collection is an outcome of the pandemic and various states of mind we have all been through, but especially Baptista. In his own words “the world is crying, so are the flowers in the prints we have developed for the collection.”
Dior Men’s
Shot by Rafael Pavarotti, Kim Jones’ new collection for Dior Men’s takes inspiration from the work of Amoko Boafo, a Ghanaian painter. We see vibrant contrasting backgrounds, highlighting Jones’ bold take in this season.
Givenchy
Matthew Williams’ SS21 Givenchy campaign features a renowned cast, including Bella Hadid, Playboi Carto, and Anok Yai. Williams let his models have some creative direction, leaving them to put their own spin on the collection by allowing them to be in charge of their own styling.
The collection is intertwined with both new elements and aspects of Givenchy’s archive.
Vivienne Westwood
In her SS21 campaign, Dame Vivienne Westwood is the star. The iconic British designer is joined by model Vita Leandra and long-time muse Sara Stockbridge, seen in the imagery from Andreas Kronthaler.
AMBUSH
AMBUSH’s SS21 campaign is Yoon Ahn’s first-ever campaign for the brand. Ethan James Green captures the collection with Anok Yai and Malik Anderson in front of the camera. The models are pictured draping themselves across furniture, Ahn explains they “capture the state we wish to be in – at ease with friends, with a partner, with the people we hang best with.”
Louis Vuitton
Similarly, to Givenchy, Nicolas Ghesquiere’s SS21 campaign features many well-known faces, including Emma Stone, Jaden Smith, Carolyn Murphy and Jennifer Connolly. Ghesquiere himself is behind the came and finishes the collection off with Halle and Chloe Bailey, as well as newly appointed LV ambassador, Naomi Osaka.
Marc Jacobs
Lourdes Leon features in Marc Jacobs’ cute new campaign, which is no surprise seeing as Marc Jacobs and Madonna are close, with the singer being Jacobs’ muse during his time at Louis Vuitton. The campaign is shot by Brianna Capozzi and styled by Haley Wollens.
Saint Laurent
Saint Laurent’s latest men’s campaign was photographed by David Sim and directed by Anthony Vaccarello himself. The campaign stars actor Justice Smith, and TikTok star @heir.of.atticus named Gauge Burek.
Marine Serre
Taking a monochromatic approach, Marin Serre’s Amor Fati campaign features everyday people in loving embraces, in the style of family films and portraits. Directed by Sacha Barbin and Ryan Doubiago, the collection celebrates the simple, understated moments of everyday life.
