“Stupid Love” Is (Officially) Here
Little Monsters, are you ready for a new Lady Gaga tune?
A new Lady Gaga music video is almost here. “Stupid Love” will drop tomorrow at midnight ET. This is the first single of the album LG6 (rumored to be titled Chromatica if a billboard ad is to be believed).
The wait for new Lady Gaga music has been both long and short. Long in that, it’s been over three years since her last album Joanne. But the wait was made shorter with a standalone single “The Cure” and Oscar-winning “Shallow” in the meantime. And the wait for this new lead single is especially short, in that fans have been already dancing to “Stupid Love” since it leaked late last month.
The video promises to be a grand and epic expansion. In the 52 second teaser, Gaga & co are aliens on a crystal-filled but otherwise barren new planet, devastated or awed by what they see. They half-heartedly dance and mouth “All I Ever wanted was love” overdramatic orchestral music.
The orchestral music is maybe trying to throw us from what we already know about “Stupid Love.” The leak revealed it to be a disco-pop tune that marks a departure from Joanne ’s and A Star is Born ’s country-pop and a return to more Born This Way dance anthem vibes.
The wait and suspense will be over very, very soon. Make sure to watch the drop this Friday!
