Streetwear Brand TAKEON Launches Spring Summer 2020 Collection
Inspired by nature.
Founded in Soho, New York, by Jessica Zhao and Chelsea Ma, streetwear brand TAKEON draws on Asian and American influences to create high-quality, unique pieces for men and women. Since its inception in 2019, the label has been striving to make streetwear more accessible for women. For Zhao and Ma, that means blurring gender lines to create original collections of unisex utility wear. Ma explains: “I feel that women are often underrepresented when it comes to streetwear. Streetwear culture can often become a boys’ club but I believe that girls can wear men’s suits and guys can wear women's cardigans if they choose to.”
Inspired by the natural world, FLORE*, TAKEON’s Spring Summer 2020 collection, continues to bridge the gap between womenswear and streetwear, with a focus on vibrant, feminine tones and classic silhouettes combined with sportswear details. Structured shirts and blazers meet floral and tie-dye T-shirts and cardigans to create a collection of functional yet classic pieces that exude playfulness and fun. The label’s focus on quality and longevity means that pieces in the collection can be worn season after season, regardless of future trends.
Pieces from the new collection range in price from $98 to $298 and are now available for purchase from TAKEON’s website.
