Staud Team Up With New Balance To Bring Us 80’s Inspired Activewear
We need those Cali vibes.
If you’ve been squatting in the same pair of worn out leggings throughout lockdown, you’re probably in need of some new activewear for the summer months. We may not be back at the gym just yet, but luckily the new Staud x New Balance activewear collection will look just as good in the park, garden or for living room workouts.
Known for their use of color and cult accessories, LA based brand Staud are launching their first ever range of activewear in collaboration with heritage sportswear brand New Balance. The collection will consist of sports bras, leggings, tracksuit bottoms, cycling shorts, jackets and gym bags. The playful collection is inspired by images of Princess Diana in her gym gear and of actress Susan Sarandon wearing New Balance in 1978. Staud’s Cofounder and Creative Director Sarah Staudinger said the pic of Sarandon “represents the essence of the collaboration, which is built on ideas of femininity, coolness and timelessness.”
The acid brights, nylon fabrics and visor sunglasses give the campaign images a retro 80’s vibe and make us long for days spent on the beach. The collection also includes an exclusive New Balance 997 silhouette sneaker which will be available for pre-order this summer.
Prices for clothing range from $60 - $180 and the New Balance 997 sneaker will be priced at $230. Available to shop on May 14 online from Staud. Pre-order the sneakers now for delivery in August.
