There's An Exciting New Way To Spice Up Your Instagram Feed
One update we can get behind.
Instagram continues to tinker with the way we use the app, releasing yet another new update. This one, however, is one we can totally get behind. In its newest upgrade, the social media platform is now letting users follow hashtags – great news all round, whether you're into cat pics or obsessed by '90s Leo DiCaprio.
Here's how to do it:
1. Search the hashtag you want to follow
2. At the top of the landing page click “follow” (duh)
3. The best posts under that hashtag will now appear in your feed and Instagram Stories bar
4. Other users will also be able to see what hashtags you follow by tapping on the “following” section in your profile – good to know if you only plan on following #youngleo, #leodicaprio, #dicaprihoe and #titanic
Instagram says that the update aims to help you “discover more posts from the interests and communities you care about,” making it easier to keep up with what you love.
The new update arrives just a week after Instagram released some new Snapchat-like features: Stories Highlights, which allows you to indefinitely show off certain Instagram stories, and Stories Archive which saves your Stories automatically after they expire. Apparently selfie queen Kim Kardashian is already really into it – which I think we can agree is a good sign.
What do you think of the update?
In other news, Instagram might be getting its own direct messaging app.
