Is A Spice Girls Reunion Tour Seriously Happening?
Stop right now, thank you very much. We have some major news that is definitely going to spice up your life. The Spice Girls are officially reuniting. Feel free to zig-a-zag-ah— we’ll wait.
Last year, the girls were celebrating the 20th anniversary of their record-charting single “Wannabe.” As part of the celebration, the members announced they would be touring the following year, with a huge concert slotted at London’s Hyde Park. Unfortunately, a pregnancy for Ginger (a.k.a. Geri Homer) threw a major wrench in the plan and put the reunion tour on an indefinite hiatus. Now, Page Six reports the reunion is finally back on but under some bittersweet circumstances.
Scary Spice, more commonly known as Mel B, recently split from her husband of ten years. According to Page Six, his “controlling influence” has always been an “unnerving presence” for The Spice Girls, and now that the divorce is pending, there seems to be a lot of good vibes floating around the reunion. Ginger confirms, “We’re not reforming immediately, but in the near future.”
Although Sporty and Posh spice have declined to join the reunion, our excitement is still so real. We currently don’t have a date for the reunion tour just yet, but whenever it is, we’re totally prepared to say we’ll be there.
