Monday Morning Kicks Off: Air Jordan Ii Retro ‘Quai 54’

POSTED BY ANTHONY COELHO

A good morning and a Happy Monday to all sneakerheads and fashionistas across the globe; from here on out we will be highlighting an exclusive, must-have pair of Air Jordan kicks on a weekly basis to add to the already-overflowing collection in your closets. Why? Well here at Fizzy Mag we understand fashion more than anything and want to make sure that our readers stay updated and informed in all of their upholstery needs. Enough about us though! To inaugurate this kick-ass event, we shall start with the Air Jordan 2 Retro ‘Quai 54’ shoes.

Released over the weekend, precisely on July 22nd, 2016 at the annual World Streetball Championship in Paris, the Quai 54s (named after the tournament itself) follow the same tradition as past Jordan apparel that have been re-released and re-designed to kick-start the basketball tournament. So far, the Quai 54s have been limited to overseas, European retailers, thus never failing to create an exponential rise in demand and value in the United States.

While adopting a more luxurious-lifestyle approach compared to previous releases, The Quai 54 comes in only one colorway: A cream-colored light bone leather upper that rests atop a crisp, white midsole and a frostbitten translucent outsole. The metallic gold accenting on the tongue, heel, and lacing system can be seen from miles away when coming in contact with direct sunlight. The usual ‘Quai 54’ callout seen on past sneakers was done with more subtlety this time around; only on the left sneaker’s tongue do we see a ‘Q54’. The left heel features a ‘P75’ logo stamped on it, which has been causing a stir amongst sneakerheads, who wonder if these particular Quai 54s will be exclusive to the NikeLab P75 in Paris. Fingers crossed they won’t be!

Available in adult sizes as well as kids too, the price of the new Quai 54s has been set to $180, which translates to about €165 and £138. For such a lush shoe, this is a relatively cheap listing price compared to past Quai 54 releases. But it’s no question that given the limited release and persistency in those who occupy the Jordan sneaker culture, the price of these particular Quai 54s are bound to skyrocket after just a month or two.
So a word of advice: start surfing the web or searching the streets of Paris to get your hands on not one, but multiple pairs of the Air Jordan 2 Quai 54s, because their stock will be rapidly shrinking, and a resale of your extra pair might just be as lucrative as ever!
