Sneak Peak Of Nike’s Summer 2020 Collabs, Including The Likes Of Ambush And Sacai
Sustainability is at the heart of their designs.
2020, the start of a new decade, a year filled with new beginnings and a year that brings us the much anticipated Tokyo Olympics. There’s something special about slothing in-front of the TV for two weeks, spurting opinions on every Olympic sport, yet making no effort to try out. We’re only human.
Nike have just unveiled their designs for Tokyo Olympics, at their Future Sport Forum. They are set to partner with some of the most exciting names in fashion, vowing to combine sustainable design and sport technology with brand partnership gold.
The capsule collections include designs from the likes of Virgil Abloh’s OFF WHITE, Yoon Ahn of AMBUSH and Chitose Abe of sacai. Each will showcase their sport innovations and celebrate their creativity in catering to the elite in the sporting world.
In an interview with Vogue’s Olivia Singer, Nike vows to make Tokyo their most sustainable yet, both during the event and in their stores. This theme flows throughout, as the Japanese will be creating their Olympic medals out of almost 80,000 tons of recycled electronics. The summer collection will follow Nike’s new design movement, Space Hippy, which sees scrap material from the factory floors transformed into designs.
We are here for brands making a conscious effort to improve their environmental impact! This teamed with their epic designer collabs, is a recipe made in heaven!
