Whenever I hear people talk about animal print—or see it taking over the streets—it’s almost always leopard spots and cheetah patches leading the conversation. But for me, it has always been about snake print. In my opinion, there is a quiet, sophistication to snake print that other animal prints just can't match. And this year, as fashion's obsession with texture took an unexpectedly sharp turn, snake print was finally revived.

My favorite piece is a vintage, structured faux-python trench coat that I purchased recently. The day the weather drops just enough to justify layers, I'll pull it out and style it with my favourite pair of black pants and black boots.

What makes the pattern so compelling is its versatility. Placed on structured leather, tailored blazers, or pointed-toe boots, snake print breaks up flat neutral tones like black, cream, and denim without clashing, offering visual contrast rather than chaos.

Leopard print relies on a warm, cozy nostalgia that feels soft and familiar. Snake print, by contrast, is cool, sharp, and confident.

It adds an instant, high-fashion edge to simple clothes, making even a basic outfit look expensive. Feline spots might be the default, but snake print is the ultimate power move.
