Say Hello To YutyBazar, The New And Inclusive Beauty Marketplace
Driven by AI and a whole lot of expert knowledge.
The number of options we have when it comes to beauty products can be overwhelming. Without the proper knowledge, it’s difficult to know what moisturizer will suit your skin, or what hair mask will resurrect your damaged locks — hence why we spend money on dermatologists and spend hours watching YouTube gurus. Consulting a professional, or watching one online, is fun and even educational, but many of us simply do not have the time (or let’s be honest, the effort). Fortunately, recently launched YutyBazar has done the work for us, so we don’t have to.
Founded by beauty expert, Simi Lindgren, YutyBazar is a Black-owned, inclusive beauty marketplace that’s driven by artificial intelligence. As the website explains, “Simi Lindgren, the founder behind YUTYBAZAR, had spent a lot of time discussing challenges when it came to finding suitable haircare, skincare, and cosmetic products,” frustration of which, is cited as the inspiration behind the e-commerce site. In a press release, Lindgren vocalizes her disappointment with the beauty industry’s “Eurocentric ideals,” and explains how underrepresentation made it difficult to find beauty products catered to her and her family’s needs. It’s this lack of diversity that YutyBazar aims to combat.
The philosophy, “We believe that beauty is personal. Beauty is cultural. Beauty is universal,” is sustained through the site's handy algorithm which matches users to products perfect for them. YutzyBazar accounts for different skin tones, skin types, hair types, and goals, making it one heck of a diverse beauty destination. You can browse skincare, haircare, makeup, fragrance, and more on the site, with brands on offer including, sustainable and locally sourced, The Afro Skin & Hair Co, and vegan brand, Freya + Bailey. In an interview with Refinery29, Lindgren revealed the YutyBazar team is looking to get another 180 brands onboard, so you can expect even more choice in the potentially near future. With all that said, It’s a big YES from us.
