Samuel L Jackson Is About To Become Your New Personal Assistant
Sorry, Alexa who?
Samuel L. Jackson will voice Amazon’s new Alexa device. We don’t know about you, but to us, this just feels right.
Amazon have just introduced some new voice technology on their latest Alexa device. The “neural text-to-speech” engine can accurately mimic human voices, through specific learning techniques rather than using pre-recorded phrases. Apparently, the tech can replicate the voices and speech patterns of our favorite celebs in such an authentic way that it might just feel as though they are in the room with us. Just promise us you won’t forget they’re there and freak out, ok?
The first celeb to step up to the task of being your personal assistant will be Pulp Fiction star Samuel L. Jackson. Feel free to ask him anything. “Hey Samuel, what’s going on with Brexit right now?” “Hey Samuel, is it going to rain today?” “Hey Samuel, play my party playlist.” He’s as obedient as they come. However, if you prefer a little push-back, sass or banter from your assistants, you can opt in for the “explicit” version of Samuel. Oh, and don’t worry; he’s being paid for his services!
Samuel L. Jackson’s voice option will be available later this year for $0.99. In 2020, the price is expected to fly up to $4.99 so if you dare to let him enter your home, you better act fast. According to Amazon, more celebrity voices are scheduled to drop in the new year…Putting in a personal request for Jared Leto kthanksbye.
