Today, the brand continues to honor its legacy by launching the third edition of the RIMOWA Design Prize, an exciting opportunity that invites the next generation of designers to shape the future.

In a world that’s constantly evolving, the RIMOWA Design Prize is about more than just a competition. It’s a celebration of creativity, collaboration, and the spirit of innovation. This year, RIMOWA continues to foster young talent by partnering with 39 of Germany's most prestigious design universities. Together, they’re offering students the chance to take bold ideas and transform them into tangible, world-changing concepts.

At the heart of this year’s prize is mobility — a theme that has long inspired RIMOWA’s designs. Whether it's the way we travel, interact, or create, mobility is a thread that runs through every aspect of life. For these young designers, it’s an open invitation to reinterpret the concept in their own unique way, while embracing the brand’s values of resilience, excellence, and quality.

The competition, which runs from November 2024 to May 2025, culminates in a dynamic event in Berlin, where the finalists will showcase their projects to a distinguished jury of global design leaders. This year’s panel includes icons like Niklas Bildstein Zaar of sub, Nic Galway from adidas, Dr. Mahret Ifeoma Kupka from the Museum Angewandte Kunst, and Pierre Jorge Gonzalez & Judith Haase of AAS Gonzalez Haase — just a few of the bold names shaping the world of design.

For the selected students, the prize isn’t just about recognition — it’s about mentorship, networking, and growth. They’ll receive invaluable guidance from these industry giants and access to professional workspaces, all while competing for a total of €50,000 in prizes, including a grand prize of €20,000 for the winning design.
