Rihanna’s Fenty Corp Sued Over Unauthorized Use of Paparazzi Shot Featuring Gigi Hadid

Oh wow, the Hadid sisters are really surrounded by law suits this week!

The Fashion Law reported that Louis Vuitton’s art director and founder of streetwear fav Off-White, Virgil Abloh, was “being sued for copyright infringement” by Elatab after posting what looks like a paparazzi picture of Bella Hadid with a customized Off-White X Rimowa suitcase.

Sister Gigi Hadid joined in the suing party this morning when news surfaced that Rihanna’s Fenty Corp. was being sued, again, over a paparazzi picture of Gigi in a washed-out black denim jacket which was published on Fenty.

Eva’s Photography, Inc, who’s suing LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton’s newest brand, claims that the picture, which was posted to Fenty’s IG Story, was used “as tool to promote its brand”. The company therefor seeks “statutory damages (of) up to $150,000 per work infringed for (Fenty’s) willful infringement of the photo.”

Let’s get to the juicy part, how do you prove that a specific picture boosted the sale numbers of the Nr1 “hottest brands” of 2019, respectively, in Fenty’s case, the most anticipated brand launch in recent fashion history? We can’t wait what Eva’s Photography, Inc. and Elatab come up with!
