Puma Suede Celebrates 50th Birthday with Barbie
The classic doll gets a street wear update.
Claiming the title of collaboration of the year, Puma Suede has teamed up with Barbie to create a limited edition range to celebrate their Suede’s 50th birthday.
Mirroring Puma’s existing adults range, the dolls (which comes in two different variations) are dressed in Puma logo leggings, cropped tank tops, sweatshirts and Puma branded trainers. Adding nostalgia for us 90s girls they have also finished the looks with braids, gold hoops and aviators. Barbie cites the collaboration as celebrating 50 years of ‘constant cultural relevance and the undeniable cool factor of the Puma Suede’. Puma Suede sneakers have been worn by every generation since they showed up in ’68 and Barbie has been played with by every generation – it’s a match made in plastic fantastic heaven.
The dolls come with a certificate of authentication and a stand making them them super collectable. The collaboration is predicted to sell out to secure your Puma Barbie act fast (they are available via Barbie’s website). We know what we’re hoping for under the tree this year!
