Garments Of Royalty: Prince Charles' Collaboration With Yoox Net-A-Porter
With a royal seal of approval.
Stepping into the shoes of the fashion industry, Prince Charles has unveiled a sustainable clothing collection in collaboration with Yoox Net-a-Porter.
The starting point was Prince Charles’ admiration for Italy, sparking the idea of connecting both Italy and the United Kingdom together. With this comes a sustainable luxury 18 piece capsule collection designed by student graduates and manufactured by artisans. Guided through the process and procedure of what it takes to create a sustainable luxury collection, the ten students embarked on a learning journey in the field of fashion.
The fuse between Yoox Net-A-Porter and the Prince’s foundation gifts us a captivating collection of splendour garments from a cashmere bomber jacket to a pleated silk midi dress - all can be browsed via the Net-A-Porter website. While Prince Charles wasn't predominantly involved in the design of the collection, he was engaged throughout the project and states: "I’m enormously impressed by the efforts, the ideas and the vision shown by the artisans from the UK and Italy."
Envisioned in the collection is its inspiration taken from Leonardo Da Vinci to create sartorial sophisticated designs constructed effortlessly.
Sustainability has always been fundamental to Prince Charles, as a result, the collection has been sustainability made, featuring natural and traceable fabrics including wool, cashmere and silk. In addition, these timeless silhouettes entail the clothing will never go out of flair.
