Prada’s New Campaign Becomes Viral Meme

Twitter strikes again.

POSTED BY MAGGIE GANNON

Raf Simons, co-creative director of major fashion house Prada, took to twitter to release their first campaign but wasn’t met with quite the response they were expecting.

The simplistic campaign features models posing in all new Prada looks in front of a very basic white background. The minimalism continues as a series of thought-provoking questions are overlayed on top of the images including: “Is future a romantic idea for you?” and “Does ‘cloud’ make you think of data or sky?”. Followers are encouraged to visit Prada’s website in order to submit their responses and perhaps even propose their own questions for the campaign.

Shortly after the campaign went live, users instead, took to twitter to begin to take their own humorous spin on the campaign creating viral memes. Take a look at some of the parodies below:

Prada have stated the campaign’s aim was to encourage creative thinking about heavy societal topics which include factors such as: “perceptions of self, views on technology, ideas of humanity – diversity, inclusivity, sustainability”.

At least this light-hearted response gives us something to giggle about in comparison to much harder hitting news that has been circulating.
