Prada has joined forces with non-profit organization, UNESCO, inviting students from all over the world to create award-winning sustainability campaigns. This collaborative project is the final phase of ‘Sea Beyond’ – a tailor-made educational program for secondary schools to raise awareness about sustainability and ocean preservation.

The partnership of Prada and the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO aims to shape our climate-conscious future, adhering to the sustainability targets of the United Nations 2030 Agenda.

Beginning in October 2020, the first phase of the initiative saw teachers participate in webinars led by UNESCO experts from Cape Town, Mexico City, New York, Paris and Shanghai. They received training on modules and lesson plans covering global ocean sustainability. All schools involved were given a recycled cardboard toolkit with creative materials.

Moderated by Brazilian marine activist and artist Patricia Furtado de Mendonça, the second phase launched on January 25 with a focus on campaign creativity. The winning campaign is set to be announced on March 26 by an international jury including Lorenzo Bertelli, Prada Group Head of Corporate Social Responsibility, and Vladimir Ryabinin, Executive Secretary of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission and Assistant Director General of UNESCO.

The lucky winner will receive a €5,000 award to invest into their school, and be recognized across Prada and UNESCO social media platforms.
