Peaches and Cream Hair Is the Ethereal New Way to Be a Redhead in 2021

One resembling a peach; sweetness, beauty, or excellence.

New year, new me... yet we're still living in a pandemic, and breaking our once sacred boundaries is pretty limited. This being said, if we've learnt anything from the past year, it is certain that 1. we will never be able to look at banana bread EVER again, and 2. that walks in the park aren't all that bad after-all.

If like us, you're running from 2020, it's utterly understandable that you may fancy a change in your look, like a new hair colour. And after seeing this dreamy work by colourist Maggie Hancock, we have a feeling a lot of people will be trying what we're calling peaches-and-cream hair.

Hancock, who works at Phan Haus in Scottsdale, Arizona, posted a photo of her client, Minxie, with a truly lulling hairstyle and colour. The super long shag with curtain bangs features loose yet sculptural waves that accentuate the real demeanour of the look: the ginger and beige-blonde colour.

"My client started with natural medium-brown hair, and we wanted to do a big change to match her vibrant, fun personality," Hancock tells Allure. "We decided to do some unique colour blocking placement, right next to her ears."

Hancock lightened her whole head prior to colouring her hair using three shades of Schwarzkopf Igora Royal permanent hair colour for the red areas (the coppery 7-77, copper-blonde 9-57, and vibrant red 0-88 to be specific) and one for the blonde strands (the golden 9-55. She then styled it with Schwarzkopf Osis+ products and Babyliss Pro hot tools. To help with maintenance, Hancock sent her client home with  Alterna Caviar Replenishing Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner and the Blondme Tone Enhancing Bonding Mask for Warm Blondes. "She will return every seven weeks for her root touch up and re-tone," Hancock says.

This look is definitely best left to a professional, so if you're as inspired to try it as we are, it's best to make sure your salon is following recommended health and hygiene protocols to ensure your and your stylist's safety.
