Nyc’s Venero Gonna Be Starting Something
NYC clothing brand Venero knows that Millennials everywhere inherited a mad world, and wants to go beyond simply writing that on a t-shirt. Founded by seventeen year old Andrew Tsuei, and Elmir Kouliev, ‘Venero’ – defined as “the place where something begins” – is a cool and considered street wear brand, born out of the chaos of growing up in the concrete jungle.
They set out to cement their manifesto of connecting young people through universal themes in 2014, releasing ‘State of Mankind’; a capsule collection of menswear t-shirts, each with a different message, attached to a feeling; ‘vexed’, ‘lost’, ‘downfall.’  Spring / Summer 15, has seen them go under the bridge, and the tarp of, teenage feelings. Set in Les Coleman skatepark (under the Manhattan Bridge), Photographer Elijah Dominque shot Models Christian Coppola and Byron Rodriguez, hanging out in a collection of simple pieces that speak in volumes, including reclaiming (and hilariously subverting) possibly the most conservative of all items of clothing, the turtleneck, by embroidering “teenage escapades” to the collar.
As Venero continues to grow, they are continually looking to be a “brand of today’s youth”, collaborating with whole host of different artists on projects designed to add a little feeling, to the been there, done that, bought the t-shirt generation.
