Warren Lotas Releases Replacement Sneakers After A Nike Lawsuit
Some will never be released publicly.
LA-based designer Warren Lotas was sued by Nike after his sneaker copied Nike’s Dunk silhouette. Due to the lawsuit, Chanclas sneaker as well as Warren Lotas Pigeon sneaker, made in collaboration with Jeff Staple, are no longer in production.
As a replacement for customers, Warren Lotas offers a similar silhouette, available in three colorways: chainsaw, clean slate and electric blue. The former will be available exclusively to the customers who ordered the Chanclas or Pigeons and will never be released publicly. The customers are given the refund option as well.
Warren Lotas thanked on his Instagram for support in the difficult situation. Simultaneously, he admitted that, while he understands Nike’s claims, he also thinks that the lawsuit is being used to suffocate small brands.
