Nike Air Force 1 X GORE-TEX
Making your sneakers splash-proof.
GORE-TEX sells itself as “waterproof, windproof and breathable”—all traits Nike have included in the new Air Force 1. “GORE-TEX product technologies have been the gold standard for waterproof” textures since day, and the Air Force have now got a water-ready makeover.
The GORE-TEX fabric is used across the face of the sneaker with white toggle laces in drawstring style up the front. It is clear these shoes are made for the city-come-off-road-explorer. The shoes are white, which is reminiscent of the classic white Air Force 1s, but the GORE-TEX textures and soles make them so white, the sneakers are almost clear. The classic soles are rubber and tinge blue in photos, but are see-through IRL.
The splash-proof simplicity of the material change is the focal point of the new design. Having partnered with many streetwear brands in the past such as Arc’teryx and The North Face, the Nike x GORE-TEX collab is not random or from left field. GORE-TEX materials are the ultimate crepe-protect.
