Nike And 1017 ALYX 9SM Drop Essentials Capsule

Functional fabrics may sound drab, but with the new capsule collection from Nike and Milan-based 1017 ALYX 9SM they’re anything but boring. Popular Dri-FIT and fleece fabrics collaborate to create an essentials-based line which if perfect to chill in this upcoming winter season.
The collection is comprised of nine pieces, including a cotton fleece zip up hoodie, shorts and sweatpants, two Nike Dri-FIT long sleeve tops and a sports bra. The garments include both Nike’s branding and 1017 ALYX 9SM’s. The three color ways offered are black, grey and olive – perfect for the autumn/winter palette.
1017 ALYX 9SM’s creative director Matthew Williams is branching the brand out through collaborations like this one, showing that the brand is adaptable whilst stylish. Williams was notably head of the French label Givenchy, proving his creative prowess.
Press for the collaboration states “Our Nike Essentials collection is focused on applying our signature treatments and developed techniques to a selection of Nike’s classic pieces. This custom developed double process cold garment dye creates depth and diversity in tonality, accumulating color on seams and edges.” The focus on new techniques and technologies puts these garments at the forefront of fashion today.
