Namilia Spring/Summer Collection Is All About Dickinis (Dick + Bikini)

This is making us kind of blush, but why are designers and labels putting penis and vagina on clothes? This could be a question for Dr. Fizzy. We have seen Raf Simons (SS17) printing an erected penis on a shirt, we have seen Rick Owens (FW15) let his male models expose their dicks on the runway and now we have Berlin based label NAMILIA making Dickinis (dick + bikini).

NAMILIA was founded in 2015 by Berlin based designers Nan Li and Emilia Pfohl. The duo met while attending University of the Arts Berlin. Li went on to earn a Masters degree from the prestigious Royal College of Art London and quickly returned to Berlin to launch NAMILIA with Pfohl. The duo’s first collection, “My Pussy, My Choice” was selected for VFiles Runway – October 2015. New York and the fashion world responded with a resounding YES! For NAMILIA clothing is an aesthetic tool and a visual platform to express their beliefs, conflicts and dreams. And their motto is:

“REBELS. PROVOCATEURS. DESTROYERS OF FALSE PERCEPTION. NAMILIA IS DRIVEN BY AN UNWAVERING REVOLUTIONARY YOUTH SPIRIT COMMITTED AND DEVOTED TO THE TRUE FEMININE IN ALL HER FORMS.”
