The gender-free accessories line that will leave you waiting for more…

Hold on to your handbags ladies and gents, 2011’s hottest item is back with a vengeance and our love for the Antigona has never been stronger. Thanks to the pattern and prints god himself, Matthew Williams, Givenchy’s newly-appointed creative director is serving out gender-neutral accessories and if that isn’t music to your ear we don’t know what is.

Featuring signature Williams hardware, the iconic bag is known to celebrities and fashion icons the world over, has been super-sized and super-charged into a 2021-worthy delight.

The new Antigona Soft, inspired by locks fastened to the Pont des Arts (or The Lovelock Bridge) in Paris, features an exaggerated golden lock of its own, with the fashion house’s iconic G branding. Glazed in an all-over brown moc-croc, the colossal creation is everything your bag should be this year. “They’re symbols of love and interconnectedness and my commitment to Givenchy,” Williams told Vogue.

The aim of the collection is to draw on the fashion house’s past and present, reworking archived brand favorites and pushing the envelope on its own cult classics. The new Antigona handbags, very reminiscent of its ancestor, have been revived in black and gold croc-print with the addition of a slender, more 90’s style spaghetti handle.

But the talk of the town however could be the designer's greatest yet. A simplistic extension of Williams’s vision, The Cut-Out bag, dished up in soft shades of pink, cream, and lilac, is finished off with clean chain detailing. A gender-neutral bag to serve you, him, her, they, and all.

Refreshing to see such an established French fashion house move in the right direction for society, the introduction of gender-free accessories could be Givenchy’s next great triumph.
