Louis Vuitton’s Women’s 2021 “Game On” Cruise Collection Is Elegantly Powerful & Playful

Artistic Director of Louis Vuitton’s womenswear, Nicolas Ghesquière has revealed a collection that is all about fun and games. “The Game On” collection is filled with a spirit of whimsy and escapism – fanned-out decks as shoulder bags, minidresses with colossal spades, and Speedy bags flanked with playing cards.

Bold colors and recognizable motifs are also seen throughout the collection, including a monogrammed handbag styled with a trench coat striped trousers. The signature LV Monogram flowers are shown with the four suits of a card deck, merging the two together for an eye-catching collection.

“I looked somewhere that has been calling out to me for a long time, somewhere I hadn’t taken the time to go back to. To uncover one inspiration after another. This is an exploration of my creative identity,” Ghesquière commented on his new creation in an official press release. Since guests could not be invited to the show due to COVID-19, he took viewers on a personal journey – through his past, present, and future.

The lookbook is finished off with a dynamic selection of footwear – the Archlight sneakers, mid-length boots, and pumps.
