London Pride Parade Postponed Due To Coronavirus
Another event to be delayed amid the global pandemic.
Set to take place this year on June 27th through the streets of London, the annual London Pride Parade has been postponed as mass gatherings in the UK have been banned and prevention methods put in place to stop the spread of the global pandemic.
Like sports fixtures, music festivals including Glastonbury and Coachella, and other global events, London Pride has been delayed with a new date to be announced in ‘due course’.
London Pride Co-Chairs Alison Camps and Michael Salter-Church have announced in an official statement:
‘It’s been a tough decision to postpone the Pride in London Parade and events, but the health and safety of our communities is our top priority. With the climate changing daily, we need to think even further ahead and make timely decisions to protect the health and wellbeing of our communities, volunteers and participants.’
This includes the Pride Festival, Pride’s Got Talent, Pride in the City, and all other public events which were set to take place during Pride Month.
