Lil Miquela Virtually Secures The Bag As She Signs With CAA
Sis said “cut the check” and she doesn’t even exist.
Boasting over 2 million Insta followers, 19-year-old Brazilian-American model and artist Lil Miquela – who is 100% computer-generated btw – has signed with talent agency CAA.
Combining the physical and virtual realms, Lil Miquela was created in 2016 by Brud, an L.A. based company specializing in robotics and AI, and has gone on to become Insta’s favorite non-human. And she even makes TikToks.
CAA has big things planned for the virtual influencer, including working in TV and film, commercial endorsements, and brand strategy. Prior to the partnership, Lil M had joined forces with the likes of Calvin Klein, Prada, Givenchy, and Samsung, making her one of the most successful and sought-after digital influencers ever.
The endeavors of the freckled and perfectly-styled star make it difficult to remember that she’s a robot and not a regular human being. She has her own posse of virtual friends and dated actual human Nick, represented by NY based agency St. Claire Modelling. O….kay? She even kick-started her own music career, releasing several singles (including one with Teyana Taylor!!!) that we have to admit are kinda catchy for a robot.
CAA’s Global Client Strategy Executive Adam Friedman stated that Miquela’s involvement within the world of entertainment is a “unique opportunity for innovative, forward-thinking brands to align with a culturally relevant, icon-in-the-making.” We think this whole thing is madness, to be honest, but we’d be lying if we said we weren’t here for it…
