Kristen Stewart Is Teaming Up With Chvrches On A New Music Project
The duo is working on a piece to benefit Planned Parenthood.
Last week, women and men united all across the globe to celebrate International Women’s Day. The support was phenomenal, but the bold fight for women's equality and rights isn’t over yet; it’s only getting started. Actress Kristen Stewart just announced she’s joining the cause by collaborating with synth-pop group Chvrches on a musical project to support Planned Parenthood.
In an interview with the LA Times, Stewart confessed that she’s made multiple attempts to work with the band. “I had been asking them to let me do something for them for a while, they’re so good,” she said. The actress will be directing the project, which she describes as “a pretty simple but definitive narrative arc that highlights the cause in a sweet but quiet and confronting way.”
Both parties’ support of the nonprofit organization doesn’t come as any surprise. Stewart is an avid opponent of President Donald Trump’s threats to defund Planned Parenthood, and she’s made a point to stick it to the POTUS everywhere from Twitter to Saturday Night Live. Meanwhile, Chvrches frontwoman, Lauren Mayberry, has been extremely vocal about her stance on LGBT rights and feminism.
Chvrches is still currently hard at work writing their forthcoming third album, so stay tuned to hear both of these releases in the near future.
