Kaia Gerber Launches An Instagram Book Club
The perfect self-isolation entertainment.
As lockdown continues in countries around the world, many of us are on the lookout for new entertainment to get us through these tough and often lonely times. Those of us who have already deep-cleaned our apartments and finished binge-watching every series on Netflix will be happy to hear that Kaia Gerber is starting an online book club.
The model announced at the weekend that she will be hosting weekly discussions on her favorite books so that her followers and fans can stay connected while self-isolating. “Every week I’m gonna post a book to my stories and the following week I’ll jump on Live (sometimes with a friend, writer, guest etc.) so we can all talk about the book,” she wrote in the caption of her most recent Instagram post.
The book club will kick off with the prize-winning 2018 novel Normal People, by Irish author Sally Rooney. Exploring the topics of love, sexuality and friendship, the novel is a coming-of-age story set in Ireland that deals with the complex relationship between two young adults over the course of several years.
The first discussion will be taking place via Instagram Live this Friday at 5 p.m. PST, so download or order Normal People now and get reading!
