Junya Watanabe RTW Fall 2017 Revisits The World Of Punk
The designer channels London punks' classic anarchy.
Junya Watanabe has always had youth culture in his blood; it’s essential to his brand. Last season, the daring designer created punk looks with a Berlin streetwear slant, and for this fall he let his anarchy glow from the source: London.
Watanabe’s latest collection was a medley of punkish staples and geometric silhouetting. His models were dressed in electric yellow and red plaids patchworked with black sequins, a host of floral and jacquard upholstery and leather detailing. Everything was collaged, and Watanabe fused together a variety of different textures and patterns to give his clothing a multi-dimensional vibe.
Watanabe’s meticulous techniques, artful tailoring and eye for color and shape came together to create fresh interpretation of the historic world of punk. Browse the entire collection below.
