‘Joints For Jabs’: Get Stoned For Vaccination

Is it even real?

‘Joints for Jabs’ is apparently an official thing in Washington State.

On Monday 7th, The state's Liquor and Cannabis Board announced it would allow state-licensed cannabis retailers to "provide one joint to adult consumers who receive COVID-19 vaccination at an in-store vaccination clinic." Sounds unbelievable, right?
The Washington state introduced this program as their latest campaign to get more people vaxxed and after reaching the goal of vaccinating more than 70% of adults a few days ago, the country is on the best way to get even more people vaccinated. Multiple cannabis retailers have already approached the Board “to engage in promotions to support state vaccination efforts” with the immediate allowance.

This is not the first time the LCB provided ‘treats’ for vaccinated people. The Board’s last allowance was also for a beer, wine or cocktail, aiming to support the vaccination in the state and local businesses that have been affected by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Other parts of the US have been similarly promoting the vaccination since the beginning of this year – you could get a snack in NYC’s Shake Shack and Nathan’s deal or a discount on tickets to see a baseball game in Ohio.

The program ends on 12th June and is available to everyone who is 21 or older. However, there are some additional conditions for both receivers and retailers. Have a look at their site and if you live in Washington state, don’t hesitate to get your vaccine - you shouldn't need free stuff to get vaccinated, but it's there if you want it!
