Illegal Rave Parties And Their Alternatives During A Pandemic

Body-mind therapy.

POSTED BY GUEST WRITER

The last couple of years were indeed challenging for the entire world population as many things loved and cherished were temporarily taken away from us. To make matters even worse, nobody is still actually sure what exactly does “temporarily” mean.

Some among you will say that dressing up and dancing to loud music are not rightfully on the list of top things people are expected to crave, miss, and need as of today. But wait. Wait. Aren’t they?

Immersing in the beat, dancing to the rhythm, shouting your heart out, and enjoying the freedom of life is a fine way to blow off the steam, and there is an entire generation out there that needs that type of body-mind therapy right here, right now.

It’s no surprise that this generation already comes up with multiple imaginative ways to get what it wants.

Illegal rave parties are a thing long before the pandemic.

Secret free raves are not something new under the sun, and they’ve been proclaimed illegal way before the pandemic ever broke out. And if initially, the public concerns were all about loud noise and substance abuse, nowadays we can add the pressing issue of social distancing and societal health in general.

Ever since the Covid crisis began, hundreds of illegal group gatherings and private parties were held all over the globe. Some were addressed by authorities, and some never showed on the surface. Indeed, this is not a practice to be tolerated, and farsighted event organizers had already taken some measures - not restrictive ones, but productive ones instead.

In the last few months, multiple rave party alternatives are gaining popularity. Unlike unlicensed raves, they are safe, legal, and well-organized by professionals so that dancing the night away can become a thing again, even in troubled times like the one we are facing.

So, what’s new under the moon?

Drive-in Raves

Drive-in raves, also referred to as “car raves,” are taking the concept of drive-in movie theaters and adapting it to the immediate realities of 2021.
So, what happens is the following: you put on a savage rave outfit, you jump into your car, you park on a pre-set parking lot that guarantees proper distancing, and you watch a live set with a headliner and additional guests having a blast before you. You then have your car and the allotted space around it to dance, jump, move, and enjoy yourself with hundreds of other people - live, right on the spot.

A simple Google search will update you with the hottest “park ‘n rave” concerts in your area, including their event rules and attendant recommendations for a safe kind of epic fun.

Vertical Rave Events

Another human genius you can encounter nowadays goes by the name of “vertical rave.” These parties and concerts usually take place in a hotel, a hostel, a villa, or a guest house where balconies face towards an inner garden or yard.

What happens next? A DJ installs their stage set outdoors, while event attendees are encouraged to book a room, get out on the balcony, and dance to the live music with tens of others located on the surrounding terraces.

It doesn’t seem to sound like a perfect case scenario to you? Think twice because, at the end of the day, unusual problems require unusual solutions.

Pod Rave Festivals

Pod raves share the general concept of drive-in car raves, except that you don’t actually need to own or drive a vehicle in order to attend the event. Dystopian or not, these sorts of outdoor gatherings rely on a simple space management idea: installing a number of separate, fenced-in dancing spots available for booking.

Every person (or a little group of people, related in some way) gets their own dancing area, while pods are at least six feet away from each other in every direction. Music can be played live or projected on a large screen on the front, depending on the event organizers.

Actually, pod raving has already welcomed some of the biggest dubstep, drum ‘n’ bass, and house performers during the last year. As stated by organizers and confirmed by visitors, they felt epic and proved to be totally safe. So, a little party never killed nobody. At least not during a pod rave.

Virtual Rave Opportunities

You are probably dead tired of all things virtual by now, but what if that turns out to be your only option for having a particular type of fun? There are still many countries, states, cities, and towns where none of the alternatives mentioned above are either planned or projected to be accessible anytime in the near future.

So, virtual rave it is. As you can already imagine, these are live online events and virtual rooms with an audiovisual connection between each other, where fellow ravers can somehow mimic the feeling of togetherness while each of them is dancing from the safety of their own home.

Virtual events, festivals, and parties are easy to prepare, easy to hit, and “reachable” from any point around the globe as long as you have a stable connection to the internet. They can be both broadcasted for free or requiring a ticket purchase - hundreds of alternatives linger out there waiting for you, and all you need to do is do your research.

Are You Ready to Paint The Town Red?

Long story short: rave is not dead. It is evolving, adapting, and transforming in order to meet the dynamics of the situation and take ravers through their troubled times with zero precious moments missed out in the meantime.

So? We advise you to search the latest best rave outfits ideas, put on some scandalous makeup, get your high heels out of the closet, and get ready to draw your swords. This, too, shall pass, and the best time to cope with the following months is sweating up in the rhythm of the music - safely, legally, and with maximum care for yourself and everyone around you.
