I May Not Knit But I Love Knitwear

Whenever I feel even a hint of spring coming, I get excited. The days are getting longer, the flowers are blooming, and the group chat is making plans outside again. Color is finally returning to the world, and it needs to return to my wardrobe, too. So how am I gaslighting myself into believing spring is closer than it really is? Colorful knits.
So it’s not fully warm enough to commit to bare arms, but it’s not cold enough for your full winter coat either. That awkward in-between weather can really humble you. I’ve found that bright colored knits are the easiest, happiest way to dress for it. Wearing a fun, funky, bold knit instantly brightens my mood – even if the sun is still setting at 4:30 p.m. and I’m pretending that doesn’t affect me. When I throw on a colorful sweater in the morning, I feel like my outfit instantly has more energy, no more same old same old black, grey, blah whatever.
My favorite colors right now are butter yellow, cherry red, and sky blue. I adore butter yellow because it’s such a soft, classic spring shade – it makes you look glowy without even trying. Cherry red feels bold and confident (even if I’m not), and sky blue screams fresh start and Sunday-refresh energy. Wearing statement colors makes me feel like I’m romanticizing my life in the smallest, yet most necessary way.
Sweaters are the perfect winter-to-spring segue outfit because of all the options. My weekly rotation includes lightweight sweaters, cropped sweaters, cozy cardigans, and ribbed pullovers. Each one brings a unique vibe to the exact same pair of jeans I’ve been wearing all season – and that’s the beauty of it.
Spring style is all about lighter, brighter, and a little more alive again. I swear that fun, bright knits hit that sweet spot perfectly. You don’t need to panic-buy a whole new wardrobe – you just need a pop of color to trick your brain into thinking brighter days are ahead.
