How You Can Support the Breonna Taylor Campaign
The fight isn’t over yet.
On March 13th, black medical worker Breonna Taylor was asleep in her home with her boyfriend when she was fatally shot by Louisville police following a raid on the property. Her death caught the attention of the world and led to protests worldwide demanding for justice for Breonna and her family. Her death has also further fulled the Black Lives Matter movement.
Yesterday, Sargent Brett Hankison was was charged with ‘wanton endangerment’ as some of the shots he fired reached neighbouring apartments. However, it’s not over yet. None of the officers involved were indicted on any chargers directly linking to her death and so the fight for justice continues.
What can you do to help? There are a number of campaigns you can support such as at Breonna Taylor Change.org where there is an active petition to end the no knock warrant law. You can also spread awareness about the Breath Act that seeks to delegate more of tax payers money towards public safety. Or donate to the official Go Fund Me of Breonna Taylor that supports several charities and advocates for police reform, but most importantly let’s keep fighting .
