While Summer Might Not Last Forever, Your Summer Wardrobe Can
Maybe we don't have to say goodbye just yet.
As someone who thrives in summer, when I see the first of the leaves falling from the trees, I find it hard to say goodbye to the sunny season. I've specifically enjoyed a lot of the fashion trends we've seen this summer. Maybe the summer clothes can stick around a bit longer as we transition into fall.
Transitioning between seasons is always hard, the question of “jacket or no jacket?” seemingly always answered incorrectly. That’s exactly why I think summer clothes are perfect layering pieces for early fall. While it’s definitely too warm to layer a knit jumper with a trench, those summer blouses and tank tops will work perfectly.
Another great transitional piece that doesn’t get enough love is white jeans. They’re great for cooler summer days and pair really well with fall tones of brown, orange and red. They really are a wardrobe staple! They always make an outfit look so clean and sophisticated, which is just another bonus of this highly versatile piece.
Cardigans are a personal favorite of mine. Most of my tiny tops stick around year-round, as with a cardigan layered on top, they work for every season. My capsule wardrobe would have a cardigan in every color; they’re definitely my favorite way to layer.
This next tip may seem obvious, but I think it’s often overlooked in today’s fashion: tights under dresses and skirts. There are so many fun ways to do this, from colorful or patterned tights to over-the-knee socks or leg warmers. It’s one of the oldest styling tips in the book, but I also think it’s one of the best.
