How To Manifest What You Want This Year

At the start of every year it’s custom to think about our goals and what we want to achieve in the coming year. By now most of us are familiar with the concept of manifestation, the central theme of the best selling book, The Secret. To manifest something means to visualise your desire and make it a reality, through intention, awareness and action. The reason why manifestation doesn’t work for everyone is that many fail to implement the action needed to reach their goals, we can’t rely solely on the universe. Rather, we should work with the universe.
Set Your Intention
Create a list of what you want to manifest. If you’re a more visual person it can be helpful creating a vision board full of the goals you want to achieve this year. Make your intention as clear as possible. For example, rather than saying “I want my dream job,” create a detailed picture in your mind of the type of job you want, where it might be and what it would entail.
Ask The Universe
This can be through prayer, mediation or even speaking your intentions aloud. The most important part is to visualise what it is you want. Visualising your goals before going to sleep is a great way to incorporate visualisation into a busy schedule, a lot of us do this as children without even realise it.
Being proactive and working towards your goals is essential. Manifestation isn’t a quick fix, we can’t expect our dreams to magically come to fruition overnight. It can be helpful to write down three things that you can do to bring you closer to your goals. Again using the example of securing your dream job, think about what steps you can put in place to make that happen, this might be spending more time completing applications, refining your CV and networking.
Trust In The Process
When you find yourself doubting the process you can use positive mindfulness affirmations to realign your thinking. A few of these include “I trust that I am on the right path,” “the universe is guiding me,” “I am becoming closer to my goals every day.” Be open to receiving signs from the universe and when you see the signs, note down evidence that you are becoming closer to reaching your goals, it can be helpful to look back at this if doubt starts to creep in.
Be grateful for what you already have. We can remind ourselves of this in writing a list of things we are grateful for and reading over that list each day. Alternatively, you may want to consider taking the time before bed to think of five things you are grateful for that day. This allows us to replace limiting beliefs with feelings of positivity.
So there you have it, a simple guide to manifestation. Even if you’re not a believer in the power of manifestation, I think we can all agree that riding ourselves of limiting beliefs, being grateful for what we have, and taking steps towards achieving our goals is a positive practice in any light.
