Has Subway Been Hiding Animal Cruelty Comments Online?

The sandwich giant has been called out by animal rights charities.

Animal rights charities such as Animal Equality, Open Cages and The Human League UK have called out sandwich giant Subway for hiding comments that highlight animal cruelty within the company on Facebook.

Open Cages say that Subway has avoided making a ‘concrete statement’ regarding the Better Chicken Commitment and has hidden comments online to avoid a ‘public embarrassment.’

Plant Based News received a statement from Open Cages CEO Connor Jackson claiming that if they have nothing to hide, they have nothing to fear, saying that Subway seem uninterested in addressing the welfare of the chickens they use in their products, although they are fully aware of what their factory farms look like.

“So we say to Subway: if you're proud of how these chickens are treated, let the world see. Hundreds of outraged customers have taken to social media to express their concern. The fact that a once respectable business like Subway has resorted to hiding the truth is simply unacceptable. If KFC can commit to doing better, why not Subway?"

We wonder how Subway will respond!
