Anxiety is one of the many emotions that we feel on the human spectrum. We feel all the feelings and it's perfectly healthy to feel anxious sometimes. The problems occur when that anxiety begins to consume you - and it's something you absolutely want to avoid! We're all prone to feeling anxiety on occasion, and it can become a problem if you're living with such a high level of anxiety that you can't manage day to day.

When your stress levels shoot through the roof and your heart starts to beat harder than ever, you know you need some help. When you're anxious about an exam or a date, that's a normal thing to be anxious about. However, when it takes things like Nic Shots to calm you down because the panic you feel is building so quickly, that may be the time to go and accept some help. Have you considered that it's time to see a mental health professional? We've put together six signs that you need to get an appointment and discuss how you're feeling with someone who can support you!

  • It's hurting you. Did you know that anxiety can manifest itself as a physical thing in the body? Your anxiety is going to cause some serious stomach issues, excessive sweating, headaches and fast heartbeats if you're not careful. If you are having trouble breathing, trouble with slowing your heart and even tension in the shoulder that cause pain, you need help.

  • You're losing your memory. Yep, anxiety can cloud the mind to the point that memory issues start to occur. You shouldn't find it hard to concentrate, but if you are dealing with exactly this, then you need to go and ask for help. If your memory is beginning to suck, then it's time to talk to a doctor about how you can slow down the effects on your cognitive function. You need to stop forgetting everything for a change, and anxiety may be the cause.

  • You avoid everything. You know you have things to do, but the anxiety is making you avoid everything and it's hurting you to do so. Procrastination could cost you everything, and it's a waste of time when you are in desperate need of help.

  • You constantly overthink. Anxiety has a wonderful way of literally hurting your feelings, and if you are worrying to the point that you cannot function, you need to talk to someone who can help you with that. Too much worrying is a problem, and if you can identify that, you're fighting the right battle.

  • You're restless. Flitting from activity to activity, unfinished job to unfinished job? You're not alone. You need to know that being restless is the curse of the adrenaline coursing through you - don't feel that way anymore; get some help.

  • Those panic attacks - they're hitting hard. Every time anxiety builds too high, a panic attack occurs and they can be terrifying. In fact, a panic attack can feel a lot like a heart attack for some people! Knowing the symptoms of both a panic attack and a heart attack is important, as it'll help to keep you calm!
