Gia Coppola Turns Pixel Dreams Into Cinema At Berlin Art Week

Reimagines Hollywood Boulevard through an intimate, voyeuristic lens.

Berlin Art Week just scored a Hollywood twist. On September 10, filmmaker and visual artist Gia Coppola premiered her new work “Edie,” shot entirely on the Google Pixel 10 Pro. The piece unfolded inside Kiosque Pixel, a Kreuzberg pop-up turned minimalist gallery at Supermarque. Picture multi-screen projections, conceptual staging, and a space that blurred exhibition with concept store — where culinary goods and limited giveaways played against an avant-garde screening of Coppola’s moody visual poem. The installation runs September 11–14, inviting anyone curious to step into her cinematic headspace.

A Hollywood Boulevard Mood, Pixel-Perfect

“Edie” channels Coppola’s lifelong orbit of Los Angeles, pulling from Ed Ruscha’s obsession with streetscapes and reimagining Hollywood Boulevard as both myth and mundanity. Shot with only the Pixel 10 Pro, a small crew, and stripped-back gear, the project thrives on raw intimacy. For Coppola, the device unlocked unscripted magic, giving the film its restless, voyeuristic pulse. “There’s a level of intimacy in filming with Google Pixel,” she explained, “it lends itself to genuine storytelling.” Google echoed the sentiment, calling Coppola’s vision the perfect match for the Pixel’s creative edge. The Berlin premiere drew a cross-pollinated crowd of art, film, and fashion insiders, with live music from Solaariss sealing the night. It was less about tech and more about proving that a phone can hold its own as a cinematic tool.
