Game Boy’s Rebirth As ‘The Pocket’ Is Finally Here
Well, almost.
Analogue’s modern take on Nintendo’s Game Boy has finally arrived after the “multi-video-game-system portable handheld” was unveiled last year. The Pocket features a 3.5-inch LCD screen, boasting a crisp yet the retro resolution of 1600x1400, and can last up to 10 hours per charge, powered by a 4,300mAh lithium-ion battery.
The new console is compatible with over 2,700 game cartridges from the original Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Gear, Game Boy Advance, Atari Lynx, and Neo Geo Pocket Color among others. Old games on a new console? Issa win-win.
The Pocket also includes a dock that allows you to connect the console to your TV, a USB-C charging port, a 3.5-millimeter audio port, and micro SD slow. Retailing for $200, The Pocket will be available to pre-order on August 3 at 8 a.m. PST (11 a.m. EST) on Analogue’s website. Set your reminders!
