FX Reveals Release Date For Sex Pistols TV Show
Following the lives of the English punk rock band members, directed by Danny Boyle and starring Maisie Williams.
FX chairman John Landgraf revealed ‘Pistol,’ a series based on the lives of Sex Pistols bandmembers and 70s London, will be premiering in May. In a Television Critics Association meeting, the FX boss shared details about the six-part series with other executives.
“It faithfully captures the story of Sex Pistols, the British born, anti-establishment punk music band who started a revolution,” said Landgraf.
‘Pistol’ will follow the wild careers of English punk rock band members that formed in 1975 London. In a press release from FX , the show’s script was described as encompassing everything “from West London’s council estates to Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McLaren’s notorious Kings Road SEX shop, to the international controversy that came with the release of Never Mind the Bollocks, which is frequently listed as one of the most influential albums of all time.”
The show’s main actor Toby Wallace will star as Jones, Anson Boon will play John Lydon, Louis Partridge plays Sid Vicious, Jacob Slater stars as Paul Cook, Christian Lees will play Glen Matlock. Maisie Williams will play punk icon Jordan, Dylan Llewellyn is Wally Nightingale, Sydney Chandler is Chrissie Hynde, and Emma Appleton is Nancy Spungen.

Based on the 2018 memoir of guitarist Steve Jones, the series will be directed by Danny Boyle, Jones and writer, Craig Pearce. Under FX Production, the series will be released on FX, Hulu, and Disney+.
