Fendi's Resort 2018 Collection Is Taking Major Style Cues From 'Clueless'

From the moment Cher Horowitz stepped onto the big screen in a natty black blazer and argyle mini, Clueless had us totally buggin’. Two decades later, the cult film still resonates in fashion: Look no further than Fendi’s Resort 2018 collection, which carries Clueless’ signature styles forward—no as-ifs about it. 

The immortal Cher Horowitz, beyond being the best-dressed betty in all of Beverley Hills, was apparently way ahead of the style curve. Today, Horowitz’s wardrobe feels as fresh as ever, thanks in no small part to Karl Lagerfeld. 

Lagerfeld picked up the sartorial swagger of Clueless and brought it back for Fendi’s latest collection. Overflowing with plaid, matching sets and neon touches, Fendi’s Resort 2018 range would most certainly satisfy Horowitz’s impossible fashion standards (“You see how picky I am about my shoes, and those only go on my feet!”). 

Much like Clueless ignored Nineties grunge, Fendi delivers beautiful, timeless products, rather than focusing on current fads. In the words of Cher herself, “We must give [Fendi] snaps for its courageous fashion efforts.”
