Fashion Relief Fund Launched To Aid Fight Against Coronavirus
Anna Wintour and Tom Ford create ‘A Common Thread’.
The Council of Fashion Directors of America Chairman Tom Ford and Editor-in-chief of Vogue Anna Wintour have launched ‘A Common Thread’, from the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund. The relief initiative is aimed at those in the fashion industry who have been affected by the global pandemic.
Originally established in 2003 in response to 9/11, the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund has repurposed to help raise and share funds for those who need it in the fashion industry like many other businesses and industries, fashion companies are suffering from enforced closures and a loss of sales.
CFDA and Vogue have also launched an online series to bring awareness to ‘A Common Thread’. The #CVFFACommonThread series showcases industry designers and experts discuss the impact of the coronavirus, with contributions from the likes of Reese Cooper and Aurora James. The daily videos will be uploaded on the Instagram page.
Ralph Lauren has joined the initiative by donating $1 million through the Ralph Lauren Corporate Foundation.
