Dior strikes balance between casual and stylish

POSTED BY CATHERINE SHUTTLEWORTH

Since the world has been in lockdown limbo for over a year, it can be hard to know what to fill our wardrobes with. Many of us have found comfort in sweatshirts and sweatpants, whereas some of us have decided to keep up appearances – even if it’s only for the people we live with.

In collaboration with Roman artist Pietro Ruffo, Maria Grazia Chiuri launched Dior’s first capsule collection back in November that was entirely dedicated to loungewear – to celebrate staying at home in style. Designs featured floral print, constellations, and a revisit to the timeless Toile de Jouy pattern. The collection was titled ‘Chez Moi’, which simply translates to ‘home’.

As many of us are still in our homes, waiting for a glimpse of normality to return, Dior has just released their second instalment of Chez Moi, this time catered towards Spring/Summer. We see similar styles and pieces to the previous instalment, but also nods to more tropical places, with palm tree prints, and jungle patterned sweatshirts.

So, whilst we wait to be able to go on nights out again, a new era of sophisticated loungewear may be taking centre stage in our wardrobes. Shop the collection at Dior.com.
