As the London-based designer celebrates his 10th anniversary.

In his Fall collection titled “Time,” Robert Wun celebrates the 10th anniversary of his brand by centering the nature of beauty. “Nothing lasts forever, and that’s the beauty of it,” said the designer.

Wun continues his love for wide-brimmed hats, cinched bodices, and mermaid skirts but with a twist. New embellishments, color palettes, and fabrications are visible throughout this Couture collection.

With this, the runway transformed into a theatrical stage where models, their faces obscured by a stunning array of headpieces, exuded an air of alienation and drama - a signature of Wun’s work.

The show opened with striking tailored dress coats in deepest black wool, adorned with shiny white beading reminiscent of freshly fallen snowflakes. This meticulous detailing captured the ephemeral joy of winter’s first snow.

Autumnal leaves morphed into intricate headdresses, their earthy tones scattering across the shoulders like nature’s own adornment. Felt outerwear appeared artfully disheveled, with ragged edges revealing layers of dark tulle beneath. Feathered moths, crafted with exquisite precision, hovered in a delicate swarm around the body, adding a touch of surrealism to the ensemble.

Exploring less literal interpretations, the designer layered tone-on-tone silks, velvets, and various textured fabrics to mimic the lushness of vivid blossoms. These looks featured pleated underskirts or pants draped with skirts and accentuated by dramatic boned corsetry. In a nod to the Japanese art of kintsugi, royal blue garments edged with gold highlighted the beauty in imperfection.

“Sometimes when you put precious things on, even if they’re damaged, the beauty is enhanced,” Wun mused, encapsulating the essence of his inspiration.

The final segment of the show delved into humanity’s inherent frailty with profound depth. A deep red dress, intricately pleated to evoke the muscular system, stood as the standout piece of the collection. With an astonishing 75,000 folds, this piece demanded 4,000 hours of handwork. Elsewhere, another standout look featured a semi-translucent exoskeleton, pushing the boundaries of fashion and art.

In place of the traditional bridal finale, a veiled tulle gown emerged. This celestial creation emphasized Wun’s contemplation of the future - glittering, enigmatic, and boundless.

This collection, a testament to Robert Wun’s journey, promises that no matter where the future leads, his creations will continue to captivate and inspire.
